Car wash for Cape Town Kids
Pontis engineer Pim de Laat washed 25 cars by hand last weekend during a charity event for disabled children in the townships of Cape Town, South Africa.
His girlfriend, physiotherapist Nicole Peters will be traveling to Cape Town mid September to research and develop a method for determining Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) among children 6-11 years.
DCD causes problems with the musculoskeletal system so the children have difficulty with everyday activities, resulting in poor educational and social prospects. Prompt diagnosis and treatment can give these children a better functioning and a better future. Based on Nicole’s research physiotherapists in South Africa will be trained to optimally treat children with DCD. Besides enabling research, money is needed for sports and games equipment.
Pontis highly supports this wonderful initiative and wishes Nicole lots of success in Cape Town.
